Little Bee

There was a huge cult following for this one. It is powerful and tells a gripping story but caused me to spend time with two completely unlikable characters, Sarah and Lawrence. I truly hated them both but kept reading to find out what happens with Little Bee. - Meighan

The truth is I loathed the main characters but I truly believe I was supposed to and I applaud the author for taking that risk and committing to it. We enjoy books with characters we like because we like to think we have something in common, but what if the same is true of characters we don’t like. What if part of my dislike of these characters is a recognition that they reflect aspects of my own character that I don’t like to admit exist? - Rob
