The Tiger’s Wife

By Tea Obrecht

Set in seemingly modern day Yugoslavia the story follows Natalia who is searching for answers in her grandfather's death. Her search takes her back to her family's village and she learns much about the incredibly long and rich history of the people who have lived there for so many generations. The seemingly crazy superstitions and myths that dictate the lives of even modern day people there are amazing, especially for a native Californian, a place with such a young history. I can't imagine allowing the superstitions from 500 years ago to dictate my daily life!

I write short, pithy, book recommendations for family and friends. My best life is comprised of my husband, my boys, my books, a quiet place, a comfortable chair, a cocktail on my side table, and a Vizsla in my lap.
