The Nobodies Album

By Carolyn Parkhurst

This is by the same author as The Dogs of Babel. This is much better though. A mom who has become estranged from her only son tries to help him through a public tragedy in his life. The book looks back at the relationship between mother and son and how it suffered because of a horrible tragedy. It deals with motherhood, grief, human imperfection, the unconditional, bottomless love mothers have for their children but the fact that despite that sometimes mothers can't be the perfect people their children want them to be.

Meighan

I write short, pithy, book recommendations for family and friends. My best life is comprised of my husband, my boys, my books, a quiet place, a comfortable chair, a cocktail on my side table, and a Vizsla in my lap.
