The Verdict

By Nick Stone

It is John Grisham goes to London. I always appreciate a good legal thriller. In this one, Vernon James is a successful, wealthy, well-known individual who is in need of serious legal help in his murder trial. The evidence against him is so overwhelming! There are many twists but the primary contortion is that the attorney assigned the case, Terry Flynt, is a former friend with whom Vernon had a significant falling out. How can Terry possibly take this case given their history? That is one developing storyline but the progression of the case itself will also keep you interested. As I said, it is very Grisham-esque. If you like an occasional dip into that genre, definitely give this one a go.

I write short, pithy, book recommendations for family and friends. My best life is comprised of my husband, my boys, my books, a quiet place, a comfortable chair, a cocktail on my side table, and a Vizsla in my lap.
