A Keeper

By Graham Norton

A classic Irish tragedy tale (oh, the Irish and their tragic stories!).  Elizabeth returns to Ireland after her mother’s death to tie up loose ends and sell the house.  Upon arriving though she stumbles on all sorts of dark family history.  It has all the elements of Irish tales with eccentric old ladies in a pub, dark rainy nights, rolling green landscapes, violent crashing seas, small isolated stone cottages, family and village secrets and drama.  Even if your name isn’t Finigan, this is a good read!

I write short, pithy, book recommendations for family and friends. My best life is comprised of my husband, my boys, my books, a quiet place, a comfortable chair, a cocktail on my side table, and a Vizsla in my lap.
