Franzen is the author who famously questioned why Oprah chose his first book, The Corrections, and was then removed from selection. This is another contemporary saga that presents many issues and facets that can face any family. I had some issues with Patty and didn't always understand her choices and problems but at the same time I realized that in life often the person making poor choices doesn't know herself why she does these things. This book will give you lots to think about.
