The Red Notebook

By Antoine Laurain

A bookshop owner, Laurent, finds a woman’s purse and decides he must find the owner; he gets a little obsessed with the quest really. I love his complete respect for the bag, understanding that one simply does not go through a woman’s purse, but he decides he must if he is to gain clues for how to find the owner. I love that he owns a bookshop. I love that he lives in Paris. I love that he is a gentleman. It’s just a lovely, sweet story.

I write short, pithy, book recommendations for family and friends. My best life is comprised of my husband, my boys, my books, a quiet place, a comfortable chair, a cocktail on my side table, and a Vizsla in my lap.
