The Tower, The Zoo, and The Tortoise

By Julia Stuart

The title is a bit awkward but I bought this book solely because of the cover art. It reminded me of the storybooks I read to the boys and I like London so figured why not. I find that even the most ordinary, daily lives of people who live in really unique places can be very interesting. Such is the case with this little book. It is about the community of Beefeaters who live in the Tower of London, and one in particular, Balthazar Jones. It does have a sad thread running throughout but mostly it is just a nice story.

I write short, pithy, book recommendations for family and friends. My best life is comprised of my husband, my boys, my books, a quiet place, a comfortable chair, a cocktail on my side table, and a Vizsla in my lap.
