And the Mountains Echoed

By Khaled Hosseini

Another beautifully, skillfully written story about Afghanistan and its oh so troubled existence. This one moves around the globe from Afghanistan to Paris to Greece to Silicon Valley. He takes the scattered storylines and characters and gradually reveals their connections. I always appreciate his viewpoint of regular Afghan people since what dominates our news is the crazed lunacy of the madmen who rule the country under maniacal tyranny. It is good to remember there are real people there lacking an insane fanatical religious agenda just trying to get through the day.
