Three Stages of Amazement

By Carol Edgarian

I offer a tepid endorsement of this one. I chose it because there were too many similarities to my own life to be believed. A woman, about my age...two children....son's middle name is "Finnegan"....married to a doctor who has left conventional practice to be involved in a start-up....set in San Francisco....she makes the same unique breakfast I make for my boys....they live in a teeny-tiny, run-down house that they bought with plans to renovate but never did...she has two sisters...she questions giving up her career to stay home....she does get involved with a former Italian lover so it deviates from my life a bit there! Although I didn't think it was great, it is always fun to read a book set in the Bay Area and the characters are people many of us could know and meet on any given day.
