Small Admissions

By Amy Poeppel

Funny, entertaining read set amidst the admissions process at a posh NYC high school.  We’ve all heard the tales of the absurdity, but it is still entertaining to read it all put together into one story.  The one part that pushed believability was Kate actually landing the job.  While I can easily suspend reality for magical wizards, in an otherwise realistic book, I do have a hard time with something as totally impossible as Kate being offered the job after her hilarious, yet completely disastrous interview.  As one who has crashed and burned on many a job interview, I simply can’t imagine any employer being willing to overlook such a performance.  That said it is a bit of very funny hyperbole in an otherwise spot on tale of modern school application insanity!
